Carbon Negative is a new network raising awareness about ‘carbon-negative’ fuels and energy-generating technologies and their use in helping protect Eartht’s climate by minimising and even reversing excessive carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere.
The technologies in this networks focus are bio-energy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) and biochar. The main bio-energy sources in focus for very large scale carbon-negative fuel and energy production would be grown within Earth’s drylands to avoid ‘food and forest’ conflicts. The principle carbon-negatively produced fuels under consideration are biogenic synthetic natural gas (bio-SNG) and liquid fuels particularly aviation fuel (bio-kerosine).
